HANGRY! Ever felt that; that is where our nation was at.

At the start of the pandemic it was estimated that over four crore Indians, the daily-wagers, were left vulnerable and suffering owing to the nationwide lockdown imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic; with no job in hand, no income and no savings.

JanBhojan, came alive when the migrant crisis hit. As the name suggests, JanBhojan consists of two words ‘Jan’, which means people and ‘Bhojan’ which means food, thereby meaning Food For All. JanBhojan started with the aim to serve a nutritious meal to those who could not afford it, may they be infants, children, adults or the aged.

Now, JanBhojan is an initiative of Health With Aid Foundation (that funds healthcare and food for chronically ill patients), who have no means to provide for themselves. One of the modes of providing food was by distributing meals to those less fortunate at AIIMS.

We set up a charity kitchen called JanBhojan, where the staff employed was either laid off by businesses hit due to the pandemic or recent graduates who were not able to secure jobs. From serving 2500 meals in the first month of March 2020 to over 40,000 meals with the support of family & friends by December 2020, JanBhojan became the support system for many.

From a team strength of two at Janbhojan to a family of fifteen as on date, it has been a great journey. Over the last 2 years, JanBhojan has been serving meals to over fifteen Bastis, old age homes, underprivileged schools, government hospitals, places of worship, in and around Delhi NCR.

Our JanBhojan family grew steadily from individuals, families, several WhatsApp groups to larger institutions joining our initiative. We are grateful that through JanBhojan we got the opportunity to brighten so many hearts in these tough times, which has been possible only because of everyone joining hands.

We at JanBhojan, freshly prepare and individually pack a hearty meal, starting at Rs. 35/- per meal, which you can collect from our central kitchen in Defence Colony, to distribute the meals on your own. You could also ask our Team for Assistance, and we would love to help. We provide a personalised video of your distribution.

JanBhojan has a team strength of 12, who start running the kitchen at 4:30am and are capable of preparing over a 1000 meals a day. The meals are freshly prepared, packaged and sent off for distributions every day.

  • JanBhojan serves meals currently, though we have distributed over 2000 masks and blankets which have been contributed by others.
  • Health With Aid Foundation provides healthcare, food and education for chronically ill patients, who have no means to provide for themselves.

Yes, you can request to add any message to the video that is made for your distribution.
